2022

Living in the flight path of Gatwick Airport, I have been noticing how the tone of aircraft changes as it travels across the sky, creating a doppler effect.
To humanise this everyday sound, I’ve been collaborating with singer, Philippa Snell, to write a score to be sung in four-part harmony by a group of singers.
As part of our research we’ve recorded the sound of aircraft, partner Geoff has helped write a programme to convert the sound into a visual score and we’ve used drawing to search for tonal patterns.
This drawing was shown at m2 artists:Recent Work 1 28th April - 19th May 2022 at ASC Gallery, Elephant and Castle, London. The exhibition acted as a celebration of the life of Ken Taylor.
