Leith Hill belongs to me
Leith Hill belongs to me
Pen and arm
2020

Walking the North Downs most days, I begin to feel this is my territory. Part of me, I had the impulse to draw the contour of the hills across the valley onto my arm.

I wrote this during an Eco-Poetry Workshop with Mole Valley Poets

I am this land
this land is mine
my bones are chalky deposits
my muscles contours
my teeth punched out in a fight
the cut out ridge of Leith Hill Tower
I am this land
trodden rock, grass and woody chaos
this land is mine
